Most people think that playing it safe means choosing the option with the least amount of risk.

That's kind of how society has trained us to think about the idea of safety.

But from the spiritual perspective, that assumption is actually backwards.

What we usually think about when we consider playing it safe, that is often the most dangerous move that we can make.

And I don't mean dangerous in a dramatic Tom Cruise hanging off of an airplane,

Mission Impossible kind of way.

I mean dangerous in a slow, unassuming, killing your spirit kind of way, where you feel like

you're being responsible, you feel like you're doing the right thing,

and you genuinely feel like you're making the most pragmatic choice.

But if we're being honest, playing it safe usually means choosing some degree of comfort over

growth. It usually means looking for certainty in an uncertain situation. It means choosing the option that makes the most sense on paper,

And on the surface, all of that appears to be quite reasonable.
