When a Christian tries to engage a friend in a conversation about God, it's rarely a convincing argument that earns an audience.

In most cases, the door to one's heart is open through an expression of love.

In this study, we're taking a deep dive into all nine virtues that Paul cited in Galatians Chapter 5.

The first trait that Paul mentioned was Love.

So how do we win an audience through Love?

Chuck begins today's message in First Corinthians Chapter 13.

Chapter 13 in the core of the subject, Paul develops love.

What was missing among the Corinthians who were often braggards, who often displayed their virtues to be seen, to be thought well

of, Paul stops them short and says, there's a love that you need to remember

its agape.

Notice how he opens the subject in these first three verses.

It's a brief list of extreme astonishing, even miraculous human achievements, all of them very impressive. Those accomplishments would include impressive speech, even ecstatic speech like an angel would speak.

If my prophetic statements and predictions were as accurate and precise as God

himself, even if I had a breadth of knowledge that would rival that of God himself, if my life

were so unselfish that I would give everything I have to poor people, even if all that were true and I lacked a gupe love, I am nothing. No matter what I say or do or believe, it amounts to zilch if love is missing.

He goes on to tell us what love is and then what it isn't. Look at the very

first example. Love is patient on top of that it's kind.

Kind.

I remember the words of my dear sister who is now gone, she would often say to me,

there's something that melts me and that's kindness.

I think we ought to just be nice. Now you may say that sounds wimpy.
