As always, this is your Libertarian Review of News and Culture from the editors of Reason magazine.

I am your host, Peter Souterman, and today I am joined by my colleagues,

Catherine Mangy Ward, Matt Welch, and very special guest, Robbie Suave. Happy holidays,

happy New Year to everybody. Okay, so this week, as is traditional, we're going to take a look

at undercover stories that matter to libertarians, and we're going to divide this into four

categories. There's going to be

politics, economics and private industry, world affairs, and then finally culture. We're going to

start with politics. Catherine, let's start with you. What is your undercover story in the political

realm in 2025? Listen, I am really sorry to be this guy, but I will be picking stories that were

covered a lot and yet

we're still undercovered for at least two of these four topics. And I don't care that that's going to make you mad, Peter. You're not the boss of me. So my pick in... Kind of I am for one hour a week. That's true. Right now you are. And you can try to punish me if you want. But my answer is tariffs. I know they were covered a lot. I do know they were covered a lot.

guys. We single-handedly this year wrecked decades of consensus on the importance of global free trade.

We just blew that shit up as if it wasn't the most important thing that the world had

ever achieved.
