Thank you. True Crime Podcast. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hockman delivered a blow to the Menendez

Brothers' Fight for Freedom.

During a press conference on Friday, February 21st,

D.A. Hockman asked the court to reject the brothers' request for a new trial. In May of

23, Eric and Lyle Menendez filed a habeas corpus petition that introduced new evidence of

alleged sexual abuse by their father, Jose Menendez.

However, D.A. Hockman cited issues with the credibility of the evidence, stating that it did not meet a high enough standard to secure a new trial.

The brothers' request for resentencing will be taken up in a two-day hearing scheduled for March 20th.

Joining me now to discuss the latest update in this ongoing legal battle is my friend, retired

NYPD inspector, attorney, and Fox News contributor, Paul Morrow.

Paul, were you surprised by this ruling?

You know, I wasn't.

DA Hockman ran on a tougher on crime platform, and he beat Gascon soundly.

Gascon actually played into the Menendez case, I think, as a last-ditch effort to try to stay in

office.

Voters rejected him soundly, and so Hockman is there because, you know, this is what he has said he's going to do, which is be tough on crime. And he is harkening back to the original case. And he doesn't find enough evidence there that the case should come up for a whole new trial. So it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

And now their hopes, that is the Menendez brothers, hopes reside in two areas, either direct
