draft has come and gone. Now, what's next for the purple and gold on today's show? We are going

to take a look at that. What do the Lakers need to do from here? What did Rob Polenka say about his plans moving

forward? Plus, what did the Lakers actually do on draft night? And how did they do it?

Which is actually really important based on the way things all played out in the second round

of the NBA draft. I'm going to dive into it. But first, quick reminder, if you haven't done so

All right, let's kick things off. Lakers draft activity. What did the Lakers do on draft? Well, round one of the draft,

which by the way, I love that the draft is now a two-day deal and not just one day. But

round one, Lakers did not have a first round pick, didn't do anything. Their first round pick

was gone as the final payment of the Anthony Davis trade. They actually saw that move there.

So that is now done. But in round two, the Lakers had the 55 Davis trade. They actually saw that that move there. So that is now done.

But in round two, the Lakers had the 55th pick. But guess what? That's not where they ultimately

drafted. They moved all the way up to 36. And I thought this was really impressive, not just

that they moved all the way up, but how they moved up, I thought was also interesting and that

they were able to do without surrendering any future draft capital.

I mean, look at the Phoenix Suns and what they did.

The Phoenix Suns made some big moves.

They were flying all around the second round, doing all kinds of stuff, but they had to give up future draft capital.

You look, to get up to number 31, they had to send out future second round picks.

The Lakers went, and that's typical, by the way, what the Sons did. That's not out of the ordinary. That's not, oh, bad job Phoenix Sons.
