My name's Trevor Lane and free agency is almost here.

We're going to break down what the Lakers roster looks like heading into free agency now that the draft is behind us.

Plus what we think the Lakers may do and who they can target.

Joining me today is Ron Gutterman. Ron, happy to have you on here.

Happy to be on here. talk a little free agency.

So free agency begins on Monday, 6 p.m. Eastern time is when that starts.

And then is that a wow?

Yeah, it's like that really snuck up.

I know.

It's like it's here already. Five days ago and we're just like in free agency already. Right. I mean, here it is. Well, and part of it too is I think there was such a little, a minuscule gap between the end of the finals and then the start of the NBA draft. And now it's drafted and then immediately into free agency.

By the way, I think there's an argument to be made and that we could talk about this some other time, perhaps maybe in August, but that the NBA could actually flip the draft and

free agency and do free agency first and the draft second.

And there's pros and cons to each one, but.

The NFL does that and, you know, they seem to be doing okay. They seem to be doing just, just fine with it. You know what? I wouldn't mind to is take something, whether it's the draft or free agency. And I know it's impossible to do with Summer League, but stretch it up like put something in August. Move one of those two things, either the draft or free agency into August.

Let's spread things out a little bit.

I'm tired of the drought of August and September, that's for sure.

They could very easily make free agency like end of July instead of end of June and let July be about the rookies.

I like that idea.

note when we look at free agency it's not quite the way it was you know five years ago or so where

the second free agency free agency starts it's boom, boom, all these names come flying off the board
