Good morning my friends and welcome back. It is time for you and for me to get our

minds aligned with the truth of God. Think about that word alignment. We want to be going right alongside in the direction that God has in store for us in our lives.

We pray all the time, God show me your will, God direct me in my path. Those are very common prayers.

And that takes a mind that is thinking the thoughts of God alongside him.

And the Bible enables us to do that and that's why the morning mindset

exists is to help you and me do that every morning. So thank you for taking the

time to do that. It enables all of us as the body of Christ to better represent Christ in this world that we live in.

Now we are looking at 1st Peter chapter 3. We are in verse number 9 today we're moving on from this short

little series we did over these characteristics that Peter said should be

true of us between each other and he's really in the same context.

He's talking about believers relating to believers

when he moves into verse nine.

Because remember, in the originals,

there were no verse numbers there was just sentences

that Peter had written in this letter to the people that are reading it and so he's

still talking about all of you all of you believers and how you should relate to each other and he says this do not

repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling but But on the contrary, bless for to this you were called that you may

obtain a blessing. And now he's going to quote some Old Testament scriptures.

He says, for whoever desires to love life and see good days,

let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

Let him turn away from evil and do good, let him speak peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
