Summary

What do the surprising connections between Old Testament figures and Revelation reveal about the Bible’s divine authorship? Dr. Chip Bennett and Dr. Warren Gage return to continue their fascinating conversation with Frank about the true context of Revelation. Together, they’ll explore how the Old and New Testaments mirror one another in profound and intentional ways—shedding new light on Jesus, prophecy, and redemption. In this episode, they’ll answer questions like:* Why was Jesus named after Joshua?* How does the battle of Jericho relate to the Book of Revelation?* What's the significance of Jesus meeting the woman at the well?* What evidence suggests that the Book of John & the Book of Revelation were written together by John?* Who is the beast described in the Book of Revelation?* How is Joseph a type of Christ and what's the mind-blowing connection between Judah, Judas, and Jesus?* Why is only focusing on Bible "heroes" a big mistake?* How does spotting chiasms or center-points found in Scripture reveal a deeper meaning of the text? You’ll discover how the Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—reveals God’s unified plan of redemption through types, themes, and patterns that no human could have orchestrated. This conversation will leave you with greater confidence in Scripture’s divine origin and remind you that no matter who tries to discredit it, the Bible stands as a trustworthy and true revelation from God!Resources mentioned during the episode:What No One Ever Told You About the Book of Revelation (Part 1) - https://bit.ly/3GwuEiP (https://bit.ly/3GwuEiP)Grace Community Church - https://www.gracesarasota.com/ (https://www.gracesarasota.com/)The Revelation Project with Chip & Warren - http://bit.ly/44LbAGL (http://bit.ly/44LbAGL)Chip on TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@drchipbennett (https://www.tiktok.com/@drchipbennett)Chip on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@drchipbennett (https://www.youtube.com/@drchipbennett) Dr. Warren Gage on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@drwarrengage (https://www.youtube.com/@drwarrengage) The Book of Revelation Explained in 5 Minutes! - https://www.watermarkgospel.com/revelation (https://www.watermarkgospel.com/revelation)Dr. Gage’s Essay on Revelation - https://www.drwarrengage.com/revelation (https://www.drwarrengage.com/revelation)

Ladies and gentlemen, in the last program, we had a fascinating discussion about the book of Revelation,

0:08.9

a book that Christians have many different views on, and we were able to uncover a number of parallels

between the book of Joshua and the book of revelation by my guest, Dr.

Warren Gage and Dr. Chip Bennett.

The last podcast you have to go back and listen to because we're just going to continue the

conversation we began then with these two gentlemen because it's such a fascinating

0:39.7

conversation that we were having so many people don't know what these parallels are yet the

early church fathers did see them and so before we continue our conversation i like dr gage

to kind of summarize the parallels between Joshua and Revelation.

0:58.5

Warren, could you do that for us?

I'm happy to do that.

The typical way that as a Protestant, I was taught to look at Revelation is that it was depended upon some of the latter prophets, particularly

1:12.8

Daniel and Ezekiel and Isaiah especially.

1:17.6

And I looked at their work and there are clearly references there.

My best friend after seminary is Greg Beale, who wrote that massive, magisterial book on

1:29.6

the commentary on Revelation, and he was coming at it primarily to argue that Daniel is the primary

model. You had, far from the Netherlands, who would argue that Isaiah was the primary model,

1:43.3

and then you had Fogel

1:44.2

Gazan, Harvard, who argued it was Ezekiel. And everybody's looking, everybody's looking

for a context for that book because how do you make sense of it without a context? And when I was

doing my dissertation, I was coming at it from a different angle, but one of the implications that became very clear was the
