Hey everyone, it's the day after a big midterm election.

That might mean you are showing up here because you want to understand what the heck just

happened.

But this year, we're going to do things a little differently, because we know that it

might take a little time to get complete midterm results.

Some ballots are probably still being counted.

Some elections may end up in court.

And that's why today, we're bringing you something different, a show we're really proud of.

All right, here we go.

Here's what I picture when I think about the importance of elections, like the one

we just finished up yesterday.

I picture this scene that played out about a year ago in Austin, Texas.

The House Select Committee on Constitutional Rights and Remedies will come to order.

The clerk will call the roll.

Here.

This is a committee meeting in the Texas State Legislature.

One of those very long, sometimes dull hearings that make up the bedrock of American democracy.

And there are a lot of people here to testify.
