Hi, I'm Dave. I've been walking for fitness since 2013, averaging about 21,000 steps a day. I'm walking

use the term wind chill today, but for the second straight day,

I've got my ski cap on, and it's a word that's bouncing around inside my brain.

when I do this on my own, this is about when I usually quit. And that got me thinking about,

when is it that I usually quit? And so I pulled out some old calendar books from 10 years ago and looked at the goals that I had said at the beginning of the year, the New Year's resolutions, the New Year's goals to see how long I stayed with those goals.

I had a whole page full of them.

I had totally forgotten about this one. There was one year,

this was 2012. One of my themes for the year was to learn something new, to try something new.

And I actually had three or four things that I was going to try. And the one that I remembered specifically was,

learn to play the violin.

When I was in elementary school,

the very first instrument that I learned to play,

I think we were required to take music.

And so I chose the viola.

Did that for a year or two, and a viola is very closely related to a violin.
