excited to step into a whole new week of inner work here at Self Care Daily. We are actually getting

to the end of April, which just blows my mind. This month has flown by, but it's already May this Friday.

And this week we have two big celebrations happening all at the same time that are different in

certain ways, but that definitely have the same themes and absolutely relate. So this week,

we both have Valbori and Belting happening.

And they always align. It's always the same days of the year. Valbori is a huge celebration here

in Sweden where I'm from, where essentially we light these huge bonfires all around the country.

It's a spring celebration that marks the full

transition from winter to warmer days. So it's really that marker of the cold time is behind us.

Living here up in the north, so April sometimes is super cold. Oftentimes it's still snowes in April.

We can't really, you know, plant anything outside until way later in May. So Valbor, the celebration,

is that first big spark of light where we mark winter as officially all the way over. It is a celebration of spring and a celebration of fertility

where things start to grow again. And those fires traditionally were also lit to ward off

evil spirits and to invite and evoke fertility for the harvest season ahead.

So Valbor is this just for me, a community celebration,

but definitely bringing light into the dark because we light these big fires.
