You know what's absolutely crazy to me? Our medical system recommends a pap smears, even annual pap smears as a preventative screening, but when a woman wants to have a baby, we're told, or essentially the vibe is great give it a world good luck we'll see

what happens in other words unless you have multiple miscarriages or have a hard time

having a baby then we'll test to see if there's any issues.

But zero proactive steps otherwise.

And I get that this is partially due to insurance,

but in my opinion, I feel like that's kind of messed up.

They'll cover a pap smear, but not some basic blood work

to screen for very common risk factors

before a woman tries to carry and create

an entire life inside her body.

And we'll only look at that after she's had multiple losses and perhaps

months or years of trauma.

It just seems really backwards.

I don't know.

I could go on but I digress.

So all of that said, you know, my journey really just kind of opened my eyes to a few things that I wish I would have known about prior to trying to grow my family prior to trying to conceive the first time.

And while I'm not here to give medical advice or tell you what to do or give her medical recommendations because

everybody's going to have their own capacity for this. You might think of the idea of testing

unless it's absolutely necessary and think no way I'm not going to do that unless I have issues but I know if you're

anything like me you know there's part of me that was just man if I could go

back like I would have screened for a few common risk factors to at least rule

those out on the front end or to be aware of them if there was any red flags prior to trying to grow life.
