We finished up in theory, Luke chapter 16 on Wednesday night, but I just felt compelled to go backward just a little bit and cover something on the weekend service here that I didn't want you all to miss.

And we'll talk a little bit about what we talked about on Wednesday night if you were a Wednesday night or watching or here.

But I'd like to go a little deeper because

the topic is important. So let's turn to Luke chapter 16 at this time. Luke 16 as we go verse

by verse chapter by chapter book by book through the Bible. An old mountaineer lived up in the

mountains with his wife and he was kind of a grouchy sort of,

not, didn't live a saintly life, if you know what I mean.

But lying on his deathbed, his wife was there, you know, sitting at his side, and he said,

honey, go and the fireplace, the fourth rock up from the right. Pull that out.

I've got something there.

Would you go get it?

And she walked over there, pulled the rock out.

And sure enough, there's this big jar full of cash.

For some reason, he started all his cash in this jar.

And he said, man, when I die, I want to take that with me.

And she said, well, you know, what do you want me to do? And he said, well, I want you to go up in the

attic and put that right over my bed so that when I, you know, go up, I can just grab the jar

and take it with me. And she said, okay, she put it up there. Well, of course, a couple weeks later,

he died, sure enough. And, you know, afterward, the funeral was over everything. She was kind of curious, and she went up in the attic, and sure enough, she thought,

oh, boy, I knew it.

I should have put it in the basement.
