0:49.7	Hi, Dr. Hanks. It's so good to be with you today. Well, thanks for taking the time to talk with me.
0:55.4	What is your question for me today? Yeah. So I want to know when navigating sort of a mixed faith marriage, or on any sort of a spectrum, how to find middle ground, how to compromise on beliefs, and how to be okay if they're not the same.
1:12.9	Okay. It sounds like there might be some more specifics to this. Is there a specific area where you and
1:17.9	someone you love are not on the same page? Yeah, there is. So me and my spouse, he is more of a
1:25.9	TBM, I would call him, a true believing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
1:30.1	Latter-day Saints.
1:31.1	And I tend to identify more as nuanced, middle ground, progressive, whatever you want to call it.
1:36.8	And usually he's very understanding when we talk about issues.
1:41.4	And he's actually become more nuanced in some more areas lately definitely.
1:45.9	But I brought up the LGBTQ issues within the church with him and finally just asked him really
1:51.2	directly what he thought of it. And I was for some reason caught off guard that he defended
1:58.1	the family proclamation. And I know that shouldn't have surprised me because
2:02.5	he does believe in the church. But for some reason, just because we have made so much progress
2:07.9	together in our views, I thought that maybe he would have a little bit more compassion
2:13.0	towards our LGBTQ friends in the church. And so we kind of got to this weird place where there was
2:20.0	kind of some tension and we just shut it down. So it's kind of like where to go from now.
