Hope everyone is staying safe wearing masks, social distancing, a lot going on and I was

very excited to sort of have a break from the news cycle and get to talk to director

Bowen.

If you haven't seen B-Water, it's on ESPN, it's a 30 for 30 documentary on the life of

Bruce Lee, the sort of iconic figure in martial arts films and just in general probably the most

significant Asian American in my life.

Growing up there was no one else.

I had a few athletes that played NFL, there was Eugene Chung, there was a couple NHL hockey

players, a couple baseball players, but we never really had anybody that was an action

figure like real main star of the Bruce Lee.

And his legend only grew and there was a very dramatic biopic of his life called Dragon.

We talk about all these things with Bowen and I think the interesting thing that Bowen

wanted to explain in his movie were all the sides of Bruce Lee that get lost in the sort

of the deification of his legend and whether it was his first girlfriend in Seattle, Washington

or more specifically the struggle.

And these are things that I didn't know about.

I didn't know how much Bruce Lee struggled and I found it very compelling and meaningful

to me that no matter how hard it gets for people that you think are incredibly successful
