Okay, my friends, story time, another one of my favorites.

And look, if you are in self-coaching society, you will know this story too. We love it. We realize how much

we have, how much control over we have over our life experience and how we shape our own

experiences. I'm going to read it to you now and then share a couple of my favorite thoughts.

Now, these stories can stand alone without any interpretation from me. That's for sure.

They've survived many, many years already and have been shared a lot. But I do love to offer a

little commentary. And if you have anything to add, please DME. I'm at

suzy dot more on Instagram. Okay, it's the story of the villager and the traveler.

Here we go. A traveler once approached the edge of a new village and saw an old villager sitting by the gate.

The traveler asked, what kind of people live here in this village? The villager replied with a question,

what kind of people did you find in the last village you visited?

The traveller said, oh, they were selfish, rude and unkind.

The village nodded and replied,

You will find those same people here.

Later, another traveler arrived and asked the same question.

The villager again asked what kind of people the traveler had encountered previously.

The second traveler replied, they were kind and generous and welcoming.

The villager smiled and said, you'll find those same people here too. What does this tell us, my friend? Does the village change? Do the people change? It reminds me of that quote from the late

Wayne Dyer. He said, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

So one traveler is walking around with feelings of people being mean and deceitful and

unkind, and another is walking around with thoughts that people are good and generous and helpful.
