Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast.

We like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is what Americans think

about the war in Ukraine and very specifically what they think about the United States going

to war in Ukraine.

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine now in its second week, it's possible to get a

little better glimpse of what Americans think about the war and especially what they

think about what the U.S. role, if any, should be in the war.

The bottom line is Americans still oppose the United States going to war with Russia.

That's kind of a fundamental bottom line conclusion still oppose the U.S. going to war.

With Russia, a recent economist you go of poll asked whether it was a very straightforward

question.

Would it be a good idea or a bad idea to send American soldiers to Ukraine to fight Russian

soldiers?

Hard to get clearer than that.

Just 19% of those who were surveyed thought it would be a good idea.

54% thought it was a bad idea and 28% were not sure, 28% a pretty big number which reflects

a lot of public confusion entirely understandable confusion about the war.

So anyway, the question, would it be a good idea or a bad idea to send American soldiers

to Ukraine to fight Russian soldiers?

19%.

That's a good idea.
