Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast.

We'd like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is the great Trump

goose chase.

You know some of this, obviously Donald Trump's adversaries have sought to use the law

against him to charge him with a crime or to sue him or to target him with endless investigations.

We've been trying to do that ever since he entered presidential politics in 2015.

Now Trump was a businessman beforehand.

He had a litigious past.

Legal proceedings are not new to him, but the legal onslaught that was directed at him

after he first ran for president was unprecedented in US history and it has continued since he left

the White House since he is a defeated former president.

Now some of this law fair against Trump succeeded to the extent that it damaged his standing

with the public, harmed his reputation.

I mean remember the things that were said, remember the big time commentators who called

him a quote, Russian asset and it also distracted him from doing the work of his administration.

But none of Trump's inquisitors actually succeeded in charging him with a crime.

Now put aside the two impeachments which were both political processes separate from the

justice system and which both, I mean given the high standard required for conviction

both ended in acquittal, so I'm not counting those.

Trump's investigations fit into a pattern.

First an allegation was made, then it was amplified in the media, then an official body,

law enforcement or congressional committee, something began an investigation, evidence was leaked,
