Good morning. Welcome back to Empowered Radio. I am your host, Emma Montgomery. You guys,

0:05.0

today is the day that the spring shred session opens. So today, this is airing on Monday,

0:11.3

March 30th. The enrollment will open at noon EST. The session will start on April the 6th. So I'm

0:18.5

going to drop the link to join in the show notes. But on to today's

0:23.0

episode, we are talking about weight loss and fat loss. And I feel like the world that we live

0:29.9

in right now, this is very relevant because there's just lots of weight loss that I see. And there's a very real difference between

0:40.1

the two and most women honestly think they want to lose weight. But what I think they actually want

0:47.5

is to look leaner and feel tighter and have more definition. But the problem is we end up

0:52.9

chasing weight loss and weight loss and fat loss

0:56.6

are not the same thing. So if you're, if you find yourself essentially chasing a number on the

1:03.0

scale, there's a really good chance that it could be making your physique worse. So that's what I

1:09.8

want to dive into today. So we're going to break it down,

1:12.2

and I know I've talked about this before, but weight loss is the scale going down, and that is

1:17.6

going to include losing all of these things. So it would include fat loss. It would include muscle

1:24.2

loss, water, glycogen, any digestion, so food in your gut. So

1:29.6

technically you're losing weight, yes, but that does not mean that your body is improving

1:35.8

because you're losing weight. So for example, if you go to the bathroom and use a bathroom,

1:43.0

lose two to three pounds, you're not going to look any

1:46.1

it. Now, you'll feel better, but I mean, you're not going to look any different. It's not going to

1:49.7

change the way your body looks. So you're not going to, you know, suddenly look leaner, have more

1:56.0

definition. Nothing about your physique is actually going to change. And that's the problem here is because the scale, yes, I am 100% for the scale as a data point.

2:05.1

So this is not like throw the scale out episode, I promise.
