| 0:40.8 | very misunderstood in terms of just body recomp in general. And I will often, when I'm talking to |
| 0:50.9 | women, they will say, well, I don't care if I lose weight. I don't want to lose weight. And it's not so much about the scale. I just want to tone. I want to look good. I want to look good in my clothes. I want to look good naked in a bikini, all of those things. And so when someone is saying, I want to tone or look toned, what their meaning is they want to lose fat, they want to build muscle, |

| 1:18.9 | it's also really why women will stay stuck in a cycle of what I will call maintenance purgatory. |

| 1:30.4 | like your body's not changing. You're wanting to lose fat. You're wanting to build muscle. You want |
| 1:35.3 | to look more toned, but you look exactly the same. And so this is essentially because |

| 1:48.8 | phases and strategies. So that is what we're going to dive into today. So without further ado, |
| 1:54.8 | we are just going to jump right in. I think it's important to start with defining what body recomp |

| 2:02.0 | recomposition is losing fat while building or maintaining muscle. And sometimes the scale |
| 2:09.2 | doesn't move much or at all. You'll see people who I'll see pictures and I even have pictures |
| 2:15.0 | where I weigh the same in both photos, but my body looks drastically different. |
| 2:20.9 | And you'll have one version that might be like, you know, a skinny fat and then another version that is tighter and leaner and more defined. |
