And I wanted to talk about the illusion of the golden ticket. And it's something that I have seen far too often, far too much in all parts of the world. and especially within person development and coaching space |

| 0:41.1 | to one day find our golden ticket. And the golden ticket is the golden ticket out of suffering. |
| 0:49.7 | And it's a very compelling story that we tell ourselves internally, right? Because when we are suffering, |
| 0:56.5 | when we're stuck, when we feel like our relationship is broken or our career is going nowhere |
| 1:02.9 | and we absolutely despise it or we hate the company that we're in, but we feel like we have |
| 1:07.8 | to stay there, or we haven't been able to, you know, lose the weight |
| 1:11.8 | that we've wanted to lose, or we feel stuck with our family in some way. |
| 1:16.9 | What we do, what our brain does is it looks for the golden ticket. |
| 1:23.1 | It looks for the golden ticket out of that suffering. |
| 1:26.3 | And it looks for something simple and easy that we can |
| 1:30.7 | just cling on to that allows us to get out of suffering immediately. And that place, this place of |
| 1:39.1 | searching for the golden ticket is a place of scarcity, a place of desperation, and a place where we as human beings are |
| 1:47.8 | unbelievably and very easily manipulated. We are very susceptible to making poor decisions because we are |
| 1:59.8 | in our sympathetic nervous system. |
| 2:01.5 | We're in fight, flight, or freeze. |
| 2:02.7 | We're not in a healthy mind space. |
| 2:04.6 | We're not in a healthy nervous system space. |
| 2:07.0 | And we can get very easily caught with our pants down, making bad decisions, |
| 2:12.8 | just to try and escape our current circumstances. |
