Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

President Trump delivered a record long speech to Congress last night,

and it was a rowdy one. Trump spoke for nearly an hour and 40 minutes, 43 days after his inauguration.

His second term so far has been defined by his efforts to overhaul the government

and reshape America's relationship with the world.

Speaking in the House chamber, flanked by Vice President J.D. Vance and Speaker of the House

Mike Johnson, Trump taunted Democrats.

This is my fifth such speech to Congress.

And once again, I look at the Democrats in front of me,

and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud. Nothing I can do. Many of those Democrats responded with booze or laughed at his claims.

Representative Al Green of Texas was escorted from the chamber for protesting the speech.

In his address, Trump seemed to plead for patience on his new tariffs, more on those later in the

podcast. He also boasted about a drop in illegal border crossings and

his dismantling of DEI programs. We've ended the tyranny of so-called diversity, equity, and

inclusion policies all across the entire federal government and indeed the private sector and our military.

And our country will be woke no longer.

After the speech, Senator Alyssa Slotkin of Michigan issued the Democrats' official response.
