President Donald Trump is pausing future deliveries of military aid to Ukraine.

President Trump made the decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine yesterday.

It's an extraordinary move aimed at pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

into peace talks with Russia. U.S. officials said the halt would be lifted if Zelensky

shows an openness to such talks.

The decision comes just days after a blow-up between the two presidents at the White House,

and it's a dramatic escalation in the rift between the U.S. and Ukraine.

U.S. military support for Ukraine has been essential to fending off Russia's invading forces,

but Trump has long been skeptical of the aid, and he has been deeply dismissive of Zelensky in recent weeks,

even calling the democratically elected leader a dictator.

Vice President J.D. Vance spoke to Sean Hannity on Fox News yesterday. He defended

Trump's position and criticized European allies who have expressed their continued support for Ukraine.

You have Zelensky. He goes to Europe and a lot of our European friends puff him up. They say,

you know, you're a freedom fighter. You need to keep fighting forever. Well, fighting forever with what? With whose money, with whose ammunition, and with

whose lives? The president is actually taking a much more realistic perspective and saying,

this can't go on forever. We can't fund this thing forever. The Ukrainians can't fight forever.

So let's bring this thing to a peaceful settlement.
