Here are some of the highlights from the second day of confirmation hearings for Supreme

Court nominee Katangi Brown Jackson.

Jackson faced questions from both sides of the aisle, and the day's conversations focused

on her background as a public defender, her defense of Guantanamo Bay detainees, her familial

ties to law enforcement, her opinions on court packing, and her sentencing of child sex

predators as a judge.

As usual, the day had its fair share of grandstanding, with Lindsey Graham making himself so angry

at one point that he had to go to the time out corner.

While Senator Ted Cruz, who apparently found his way back from Montana after all, asked

if she thought babies were racist.

Yes, Ted, and they're coming to graffiti the 1619 project all over your house next time

you go to Cancood.

The latest in the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to see a weakened Russian army, with

Ukrainians even retaking a key strategic suburb of Kiev that the Russians had previously overtaken.

The attacks continue around Kiev and Marju Paul, though they continue to not really achieve

anything other than senseless murder.

In the meantime, diplomatic conversations are continuing, and President Biden is scheduled

to meet in Brussels with G7 leaders tomorrow, followed by a meeting with the Polish president

later in the week.
