Hey friends, welcome back in First Kings six today, I think. Yes, that's it. First King's six.

And we talked about a really important parentheses yesterday. And that was the parentheses of why am I doing what I'm doing? Because the first 10

verses of 1st King 6 talked about the importance of the temple and the building of it and the

size of it, the architectural drawings, so to speak. And then verses 14 through the rest of the chapter,

we'll talk a little bit more about that, even giving some sizes of things. But right smack

dab in the middle of the chapter is God speaking to Solomon during the project and saying, Solomon, please remember why you're doing

what you're doing. So really good advice to Solomon and really good advice for you and me as well.

We're in verse number 14 now where the Bible says, so Solomon built the house and finished it.

So Solomon took these words to heart and made sure that while he was doing the right thing,

he was doing the right thing for the right reason.

Really, really good clarification.

He built the walls, verse 15, of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house and the walls of the ceiling.

He covered them on the inside with wood. He covered the floor of the house with planks of fur. He built

20 cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boardsanks of fur. He built 20 cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and

the walls with boards of cedar. He built them for it within, even for the Oracle, even for the

most holy place. Now, remember, I talked to you a bit about the fact that the Oracle was the

communication of God, and that was another name for the holiest place,
