Hey guys, welcome back. It's late here on Tuesday night, and I'm talking to you on Wednesday.

So I'm a little bit behind, but I wanted to get this episode in.

We are in First Kings Chapter 11.

But the first King's chapter 11, we've been talking about this ugly period in Solomon's life

where he did the things that God had specifically and categorically warned him not to do. He

multiplied to himself wealth and horses and women. So in all these areas where he should have been

trusting God, finding his satisfaction in God, he was chasing the wind,

hence the book of Ecclesiastes, where Solomon really gives his testimony

about how unwise those behaviors were.

But sin has consequences, and while we can deal with our sin in repentance,

we can't necessarily change the course of our consequences. And what we're finding in First Kings

Chapter 11 is that Solomon is dealing with these consequences.

Solomon, because of your divided heart, I will divide the kingdom.
