I'm here at the studio in Fredericksburg, and we're in First Kings chapter 11 today.

And I, you know, there's certain passages in the Bible that you look at and you almost don't want to read them again because they're just sad.

And we've been talking about Solomon for quite a while.

The Bible gives a lot of attention to the ministry of Solomon and some great things that he did.

Because the Lord had given him great wisdom and he, in that wisdom did some wonderful things for the Lord,

built that whole civil complex,

spent some time on the temple,

and encouraged the people of God to worship God excellently.

And the Salomonic prayer at the dedication of the temple is among the most rich

sections of scripture that you'll find. And I've enjoyed going through all of that with you.

But here's this man noted for such great wisdom and great devotion to the Lord. And yet he has such a sad end, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
