If you're new to the morning mindset, welcome. My name is Carrie Green. I'm glad that you're new to the morning mine, so welcome. My name is Carrie Green.

I'm glad that you're here.

This is our opportunity, one of the many opportunities

we have throughout the day, to get our minds connected

with God's Word as revealed in the scripture.

We've been doing so by looking at the Gospel of John Chapter 14 most recently.

And today we are still in John Chapter, and we're going to begin in verse

number 18, so let's just dig right in. Now contextually Jesus is

talking to his disciples on the eve of his crucifixion, so he is about to go to the cross and be killed and

their worlds are going to be turned upside down. They are going to lose in a very

literal way the master they've been following for probably right around three years.

And they are going to be kind of disenchanted, discombobulated, confused, all kinds of things going on in their own hearts.

And Jesus is trying to preempt that by preparing them with truths, with realities that are

going to be true for them at that time.

And he says in verse 18, I will not leave you

as orphans. I will come to you.

Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me.

Because I live, you also will live.

In that day, you will know that I am in my father and you in me and I in you.

Now if I put myself in the disciple sandals for a moment, I can just totally understand how disconnected

and mysterious all of this must have sounded to them because they had no concept of what was
