Summary

People in Jesus' time had a bad attitude about marriage, just like today. They seemed to think it was a person's right to divorce whenever they decided they wanted to, just like today. But Jesus corrected this by pointing them toward the nature of marriage and showing that marriage it a holy and wonderful union that God Himself has created. Jesus takes away their excuses and calls them to get back to the heart of marriage rather than seeking excuses to divorce. It was a message people desperately needed to hear at the time, just like today. Here's my big video on divorce and remarriage and everything the Bible says about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2pC6ZikbYo&list=PLZ3iRMLYFlHtBvJzugPJp9P5X1T-hA91j&index=2 Here's the entire Mark playlist where we are working through the whole book of Mark verse by verse. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ3iRMLYFlHuGenHwUdeiQ5M-uj5XW4sF

But while I did a three hour long video on all of what the Bible teaches on marriage, what I didn't do in that video is a thorough verse by verse treatment of Mark chapter 10.

And since we're in the Mark series, I thought,

0:33.0

I still need to do this.

0:34.0

We still have to go through a verse by verse.

0:35.0

So Mark, chapter 10, versus 1 through 12.

0:37.0

See this in the context of the whole Gospel of Mark,

0:39.0

and I'll share some info here that I didn't share in that long three hour marathon teaching

0:44.8

where I taught everything the Bible says about divorce and remarriage.

0:48.8

So here we are Mark Chapter 10 versus 1 through 12.

Let's just read verse 1 and we'll get started. Getting up, he went from there to

the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Crowds gathered around him again and according

to his custom he once more began to teach them.

1:05.2

So one of the first things you should ask as you're doing a study of Mark 10 is getting up from

1:09.9

where and going to where. Where is he coming from and where is he going to? This is kind of him on the

1:16.6

journey. What happens in Mark 10 is all in the sandwich of a journey where he

1:20.9

was somewhere and he's going somewhere. So where he was is

1:23.0

Kepurnium we get that in Mark chapter 9 verse 33. Where he's heading 2 is

1:28.2

Jericho. Now Kepurnium is in Galilee. This is in the Galilee area up in the north of Galilee and that's where
