As you may know by now, I am a proud, published author, but way back when I attended my first

writers' conference, my excitement to pitch my book there soon gave way to a disheartening

experience.

It had me grappling with self-doubt and alluming question, am I not good enough?

But here's the beautiful paradox about our setbacks, oftentimes there are greatest teachers.

The uncomfortable truth is that growth doesn't come wrapped in a cozy blanket, unfortunately.

It's accompanied by feelings of discomfort, sometimes even pain.

Now back to my first writers' conference, a big draw to the event was getting to pitch

my book to an agent, so I went to my first pitch meeting and swiftly got my first rejection.
