On June 1st, 1974, a man was born who would go on to experience a great deal of success during his life,

all of which came to an abrupt end after he made the deadly decision to spend an evening with his oldest friend.

morning cup of murder. Robert Eric Wan, born June 1st, 1974, was a fourth generation Chinese

American born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating high school, where he was the valedictorian of his

class, Robert moved on to the College of William and Mary as a James Monroe scholar. As an incoming

freshman, Robert joined in on a tour for prospective students, being led at the time by a junior at the school,

Joseph Price. The pair met for a second

time when the college invited Robert for another visit and named Joseph as his personal guide around

the campus. Both young men shared similar interests in things like politics and law. So pretty

much from that moment on, they found themselves creating a friendship that only

blossomed further when Robert officially entered the school during Joseph's senior year.

The son of Navy officers, Joseph grew up in Texas, the Florida Keys, Cape Cod, and even Japan,

was a former Eagle Scout, and when he was elected as the president

of the college's student assembly, quite a big deal since he was openly gay, Robert Wan was

personally appointed as one of his advisors, despite being just a freshman. In 1993, Joseph graduated

from William and Mary, and went to pursue his law degree at the University of Virginia.
