China has decided to attack Taiwan and bring the island nation under direct control.

Now the United States has to answer.

Do we fight for Taiwan's freedom?

How far are we willing to go?

Will allies support us?

The testing, if you will, of strategic ambiguity.

Those are the questions we ask in this week's season finale of Meet the Press Report.

We staged a full day war game to help envision what a battle for Taiwan might look like and

what it would mean for both sides to win for lose.

My guests today are Ed McGrady and Becca Wasser from the Center for New American Security.

They were our partners in building this war game exercise and helped us bring together

members of Congress, former Defense Department officials, retired military officers and academics.

Ed is an adjunct senior fellow at the CNA, S Defense Program and Becca is a fellow in

the defense program and the co lead of the gaming lab at CNAS.

They're going to help us understand what we learned from the war game and explain why

war gaming is important in the first place.
