We are really going to lean into our empowerment game this session, okay?

Because I have Wanda James, the godmother of cannabis.

But, you know, beyond cannabis, cannabis being a power tool, cannabis being a way for people to

have rights and resources, you are now manifesting this into a run for Congress, which when I heard you were running for Congress,

I said, I'm so excited. I need to talk to you about it. So welcome, welcome. Thank you so much.

I mean, it's, you know, it's all exciting, right? And I mean, it's about getting your voice out there.

It's about challenging the system. It's about making a difference.

All right. So walk. So walk us through.

I've been challenging people to run for office because I'm like, we need better candidates.

And now we have time to get better candidates.

So when I heard you were throwing your hat in the ring for the first congressional district in Colorado, which is the Denver, Colorado area, I was like, why?

Tell me why. I'm happy. But what was that moment where you said I'm running?

The moment when I said that I'm running, I mean, quite frankly, is, you know, you look at what's

going on around you right now. We're losing democracy. And as corny as that sounds, you know, and I think people

think that, you know, no, everything is going to be all right. Everything is going to be fine.

But man, we are being stripped down bare. I mean, we're losing education. 400,000 black women

have lost their jobs in government.

They're stripping down government.

And we're doing this because we voted in one person who is now igniting a movement to remove the ability for us to have any power, any say in our lives.

And when I say any, I'm talking education, health care, damn, food, you know?

That's why I'm out here running, right?
