It is Thursday, August 8th, 2024. Let's get into the mix.

Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, vulnerable Democrats are skipping the Chicago Convention.

Number two, inside Mike Johnson's Jackson Hole retreat in number three, Pelosi on Biden, Trump, and her role in making the Democratic

ticket. Let's get into it. A tale is oldest time here, a great item by Max Cohen and Mika Soloner about the vulnerable Democrats in the

House and Senate skipping the DNC in Chicago. The Democratic Convention begins, and I guess like

a week in change or something like that. Yeah, a week and a half, roughly.

And a bunch of Democrats are not going to Chicago.

Now listen, a lot of people skip conventions.

They're expensive.

They are time-consuming during an otherwise important period back in the district, and they are mostly for the presidential race unless you want to go hang in a hotel in Chicago and

glad hand donors.

But the number of Democrats here who are skipping the convention is interesting to us.

Sherrod Brown of Ohio, John Tester of Montana.

Jackie Rosen of Nevada, who will appear with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on Saturday in Nevada.

She's, as I said, skipping the convention.

Jared Golden, Josh Harder, Marie Glusencamp Perez, all said they won't be in the windy city.
