So welcome. Welcome to this class, Victory Over Mara. This is our first class.

And I'm quite excited to explore this with you all. There's something fun about just like poking around in the sutas and taking a theme and really looking at it from different directions

and then considering how it might be a support for our practice.

And this is something that I used to do a lot of. I haven't been doing as much lately as I've been doing different types of teaching, but it's

been a lot of fun for me to pull this together and to look at this. So I'm going to, I'll do a little bit

of a share screen just to start because I'm going to throw around the titles of things and names,

and these names are in Polly and nobody's getting, it's hard to remember them.

I just want to be able to, so you can read them.

Yeah, no requirement to remember this.

But I just thought that I would share scream because otherwise it just starts to feel like

a bunch of a gobbledy cook if you're hearing all these words in Polly that you aren't accustomed to hearing.

Okay, so victory over Mara.

This actually is a distinct saying, Victory of Mara.

I think it's Mara Vigaya as, and it's something that comes up a number

of places. I just want to give a high level objective of the course. I don't want to make this

too formal, but I want to just point out that what does this whole idea mean for us as

practitioners? Like even what is this idea of mean for us as practitioners?

Like even what is this idea of Mara?

And what does victory even mean for us as practitioners?

And how can it be a support for us?

So that's the part as practitioners.

And the other part is a little bit like poking around
