| 0:00.0 | Hey, the bird show. I've been talking about, I guess, the past couple weeks, even summer vacation, I spent my summer vacation while we were off staying at home in my townhouse because I've been there a couple years now and trying to get the last things done, the last rooms painted, last shelves hung. There's little irritating things that you always stay in your house and it's not done and you're frustrated. One of the other things that was kind of holding that up that I did also is my father had passed away a few years ago. One of the things I inherited from him was his library collection. And my father was an avid reader. And it was just this year that my brother was able to finally haul all the books in his truck and get them down here to Atlanta. And so I was sorting through them because I didn't keep all of them. |
| 0:37.7 | I donated a lot of them. |
| 0:55.8 | And one of the things, you know, and it's cool. I mean, he had all kinds of where he liked mysteries and westerns and all the stuff. And there's, you know, some travel books. And one of the cool things is one of the travel books that he had is actually a travel book that I've bought. So it was kind of weird that, oh my God, you know, my dad and I bought the same travel book, didn't know it. |
| 1:10.8 | But my mom was down, uh, over the week we were off and she was helping me sort through the books. And, um, so we were going through the books. And then I just noticed that it started out with, um, we were sorting them in different boxes and she would just go ahead and stack them and put them in the boxes and then pack the boxes and then shove them to the side and it was just |
| 1:14.0 | pretty like, pretty fast going and then I noticed though that she would slow down a little bit |
| 1:20.6 | and then she would like look at a book and sort through the pages and then put them back. |
| 1:24.4 | And so I noticed, I mean you just kind of sense when someone's vibe has changed a little |
| 1:28.4 | bit, even if though they're not saying anything. Well, it ends up that some of the books, he had travel, Western mystery. He also had medical books. And she had gotten into the collection of medical books. Now, again, my brother had packed all these books. And again, he had a library. So mom didn't necessarily no, obviously, every book he had. And so a lot of the books that he he had a library so mom didn't necessarily know obviously every book he had and so a lot of |
| 1:46.2 | the books that he had had in the medical part had to do with sexual activity sexual activity in older men |
| 1:53.1 | sexual dysfunction in older men just a lot of books about sex and mom was fascinated by this because |
| 1:59.5 | obviously it was not a concern that she shared with him, you know? |
| 2:02.9 | That he shared with her. |
| 2:04.2 | I mean, yeah, that he shared with her. |
| 2:06.2 | And so she was confused. |
| 2:08.5 | I mean, they were married for 51 years, so she was confused. |
| 2:11.9 | Because when you're old, like he passed away when he was in his 70s. |
| 2:14.3 | And for those who are, you know, are not aware of, of, you know, |
| 2:18.2 | people in their lives that are older, especially for men, that is a concern for them when they're older, especially if they have heart problems. My father had a heart attack. And men who have heart attacks, usually that is something they're not able to do anymore after the fact. So. It's not even an older person thing, really. When you're in a mid-30s, |
| 2:33.5 | no, I'm just getting into. |
| 2:34.1 | Always there in the back of your mind. |
| 2:35.8 | Privately, |
| 2:36.4 | Privately, Bert wants to know where to this book. person thing really when you're in the mid-30s no I'm just getting it always there in the back of your mind |
