Summary

In 2012, Vanessa quit her job, sold all her possessions, purchased and RV and set off to live a life she had been dreaming of.  She and her companion, Shacky, are traveling around the Americas " living day-to-day, bartering or trading for things that we need, sometimes doing freelance or contract work, and following our whims wherever they take us".  We talk to Vanessa about her new book, "The Summit Seeker" a story of her life and how she has ventured to this point.  She shares what she has learned about running from Malcom Gladwell, Alberto Salazar and Bilbo Baggins.

Now, another tailwind tip of the trail. Today we have the owner, inventor, and proprietor

0:13.5

of zero shoes. Stephen Sashin. Stephen, what do you have for us today?

0:18.5

Oh gosh, I'm just marveling over the word proprietor. I'm googling it as we speak, Stephen.

0:25.5

Can you spell it? Hey, before you get to your tip, tell us a little bit, a little bit

You guys know we were on the television show Shark Tank, which repeated the show, which

0:40.5

0:57.7

We've made what or so. I think some of the first improvements on Worcesters in 15,000

1:01.8

years kind of figured out how to make it simpler for people. There's some people who are

1:05.5

intimidated by tying a knot. I understand that. So we've kind of solved that by getting

1:12.5

rid of all the knots and complicated barks and bits. And there's some people who like

1:16.4

more barefoot feel, some people like less barefoot feel. We figured out solutions for

1:19.6

both of those. And there's some people who want to just some extra style. Hey, wait,

1:23.8

I'm going to show something to you guys really quickly. Just a little blingy something

1:27.1

Oh, yeah, you know, that's nothing that you'd want to wear. That has some color, some style.

1:32.6

So last time we talked to you, between the last time we talked to you and now, the name

1:37.2

of your company has changed from invisible shoes to zero shoes. What is your new web address

1:42.9

so that we can find this? Well, if you go to invisible shoe.com, it'll get redirected

1:46.5

or if you go to zero shoes, XEROshoes.com, you'll find us there. We did a lot of name
