Are you afraid to speak up sometimes?

You are not alone, especially if you are a woman,

a woman listening to this.

It's proven, there's so much data,

so many statistics around it.

The women are more afraid to speak up than men in a lot of cases.

We're scared to ask questions, we're scared to present our ideas, we're scared to ask for things, right, things that we want, things that we need,

we're often afraid to use our voice.

There are many reasons for this, some historic, some just rooted in the present moment.

But I'd like to offer something to you today that could be interesting

or that could be helpful when it comes to using your voice,

to communicating your needs,

and not being afraid to hold back when the opportunity arises.

In my career history, right? I worked in the tech sector for over a decade and look I enjoyed that work before I started my own business of course as a life coach.

In the tech sector you work a lot with

engineers and product teams and when I was you know certainly younger working as a

woman I was afraid to speak up in meetings. Sometimes I was the only woman,

often my bosses were male, and when I was in meetings with engineering teams,

I simply didn't understand their language. I worked in the sales department, right?

So it wasn't my job to understand the intricacies of the engineering team and what they were working on,

but I still needed answers to give my clients.
