But despite what USC fans are a good friend Colin Cowherd will probably say,

this doesn't solve USC's biggest problem. Offense has not been the issue for the Trojans,

and in Lincoln Riley's career in general, it's the defense and the strength and conditioning

that is holding them back. Their championship fate won't be determined on the offensive side of

the ball. We saw them get bullied when it mattered by Utah, and then Tulane ran through them like

the plague in the bowl game. Now, they will drop 40 pieces and 50 pieces all year in the pack 12,

and they won't be alone with the array of quarterbacks returning in that conference.

But eventually, USC is going to have to stop somebody when it matters.

And Alex Grinch is more important to them winning a national championship than any offensive

coach they can bring in. I'll also say strength and conditioning coach or sports performance

director Benny Wiley is more important than Clip Kingsbury. He inherited a roster last year

that wasn't physically able to hold up, but with some new additions in a full-off season,

don't be surprised if you see a more physical version of this USC team. Now, without these two

gentlemen doing what they must, it'll just be another year of USC looking like the NBA regular

season on defense. And on that note, a guy that made a lot of defenses look like the NBA regular

...
