Liz, thank you so much for joining us today.

Thank you. I am so excited to talk all things email and

anywhere else the conversation goes today. Absolutely. Now you are a serial

entrepreneur and right before we got on you said that you've never had a quote real job.

So I would love for you to expand on that and share your journey to becoming the queen of email marketing.

Yeah, so I feel like as you listen to this now, of course, we live in this creator economy,

especially with the pandemic, everything has kind of really, you know, been in like 2X mode, right, like really, really fast, quickly changing. And I actually, the last job I had was at a gas station that sold fried chicken and I was

slinging that chicken for years while I was in my undergrad and they fired me. I worked there I think three three and a half years and I came in one day and they said you know Liz we've been looking at the tapes and we know you didn't take the money but your drawer is short and corporate says you got to go.

Wow. And so I quickly got into my car, blasted Justin Timberlake,

Cry me a river, because that was popular back then.

I literally cried a river.

And then I went home and I thought,

I really wasn't making that much money and I grew up pretty poor but I was in college so that's to be

expecting you know it's it's normal to not to have any money so I said well I wasn't making

that much money and Craigslist gigs has started to become a thing.

You know, this was before like apps, you know, and Uber and stuff.

So it was just Craigslist gigs.

I said, I bet I could make the couple hundred dollars I was making in that job and so I got on the gigs and I just started making money that way and once I realized that I could make money for myself it was like game over right and then I you know I actually I ended up getting my master's degree in leadership and then I ended up getting married and having a baby and I thought I don't really want to go. I was going to I wanted to become a principal and you the world, change the education in America.

And I thought, you know, it's really hard to have that
