Welcome to my devotional grace for a mom's heart.

In the weeks ahead, I'll be reading from my devotional titled Unhurried Grace for a Mom's Heart,

31 days in God's Word.

from my own heart as written in my devotional. I'll ask some questions at the end to help you

dig deeper, and then I'll conclude in prayer.

Today's devotional is titled Working from a Place of Rest.

The scripture passage comes from Luke 10, verses 38 to 42.

As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain

village where a woman named Martha

welcomed him into her home. Her sister Mary sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he taught,

but Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said,

Lord, it doesn't, doesn't it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here?

Will I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me. But the Lord said to her, my dear,

Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details. There's only one thing worth being

concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken from her. If you're a mom,

you're busy. That's just the way it is. The to-do list seems endless and exhausting,

and though we often complain about it, most of us don't do anything to change our frantic

lifestyles. Why is that? Some of us feel we have no choice.
