Thank you. A chilling development has emerged in the case of the torso killer.

As notorious serial killer, Richard Cottingham has confessed to yet another murder.

Cottingham admitted to the 1965 murder of 18-year-old Alice Everhart, who was found slaughtered in her fair lawn, New Jersey home.

Cottingham is currently serving a life sentence for his crimes that include 18 murders to which he's been linked.

Fox News Digital Investigative reporter Michael Ruiz joins me now with a look into this shocking update.

First of all, Michael, thank you for joining me this afternoon.

You've been digging into this cold case that this latest confection, 60 years,

in the making, is really unbelievable.

Yeah, so first, thank you for having me.

But he has been active for about 20 years.

And now he's on his deathbed.

He's 79 years old, in prison, in poor health.

And investigators are hoping that he's

going to confess to more crimes because although he's been convicted in 18, linked to 20, he's claimed

responsibility for dozens more than that. And it's unclear whether those other families are going to

get the same kind of answers. Tell me more about Richard Cottingham. What do we know about him?

So Richard Cottingham was initially arrested in 1980 after a murder spree in which he killed five women within a span of three years.

The most recent were in three weeks before his capture.

Two of them actually took place at the same hotel.
