First of all, because as the richest country in the world, we should be ashamed that 42 million

Americans require supplemental food assistance and because the Republican Party

has its priorities completely backwards. They are willing to allow our children to go hungry

in order to score chief political points. So first, let's look at short-term ripple effects

of the ending of SNAP benefits.

For one thing, 25 states are suing Donald for suspending SNAP benefits. Leaders are asking a

federal judge of Massachusetts to order the continuation of benefits throughout the government

shutdown. The lawsuit says in part, quote, the loss of SNAP benefits lead to food insecurity,

hunger, and malnutrition, which are associated with numerous negative health outcomes in children,

such as poor concentration, decreased cognitive function, fatigue, depression, and behavioral

problems. Yes, starving will interfere with your ability to function properly.

Here's a reminder. Well, two actually. First, Donald Trump has never gone hungry a minute in his life.

Second, the Trump regime could dip into contingency funds to continue SNAP benefits. I believe there's something like
