We were waiting for the US and NATO to take the lead. Katrina, what do you make of this?

Well, I think what we take from this is that managing US relations with the people's

Republic of China will be the defining foreign policy challenge of our era. And I think,

you know, given the stakes, we owe it to ourselves to reject the Cold War framework that's

in no one's interests and to seek new ideas and approaches, what seems to be a new idea

as diplomatic power, which China, with its handshake, quote, the handshake seen around

the world, as it was called, as China's top negotiator last week, concluded diplomacy

he and his colleagues have pursued for some months now, right, by bringing together top

negotiators from Saudi Arabia and Iran. It seemed like Biden was startled by this

news, John. I mean, he kind of seemed befuddled and didn't even mention the three countries

involved as he responded to the news report, but only Israel and Arab, the Arab world.
