Maccandor in International Relations joins on a holiday weekend to comment on the turmoil

in Eurasia.

You recall that the war was going badly for Russia and then pergose on the leader of a private

army, rises up one Saturday morning and challenges the authority of the Kremlin, sending a brigade

we're told hurling towards Moscow.

And then the normally opaque Kremlin has been completely a black hole.

There is no news, there are just rumors.

The witticism that Russians enjoyed it to tell each other, remind each other at this point

in Russian history is we know what's going to happen.

We just don't know what's going to happen between now and then.

That is Russia today.

No one is certain at all about the maneuvering for Putin's successor.

Nor is anyone certain about pergose who's said to be in Belarus.

Nor is anyone certain about the leader of the army, a Gerasimov, who may or may not be

seen.

You can't tell the way the film works, a video works these days.

You can't date anything.

So I go, the defense minister appears to be firm, but the general Serovakin who was

charged with winning in Ukraine, General Armageddon, is said to be detained.

There is nothing but disorder from the Russian news.
