We go to the battlefield now, where over these last weeks, John has been reporting incremental but significant advance by the Russian forces.

We use multiple tasks, but chiefly are operating in small units that overcome even smaller units on the Ukrainian side.

Are there any significant movements either in Luhansk or Denedzko Blas?

So the situation hasn't changed fundamentally.

One thing I would flag is the Russians have made progress around the small city of the Lignawasilka.

This is in the southwestern part of Dunedsk-Oblask in eastern Ukraine, the Dombas region.

So they've severed the roads leading into the city from the north, and basically Ukraine has one major road leading in from

the west. The city is split by multiple rivers, so it'll be, I think, hard for the Russians to take,

but also in some ways perilous to defend because of those rivers and the fact that Russia is

trying to encircle it. I'd also flag some Russian gains in and around the city of Krakava.

This is slightly to the northeast, and then we can know Ossilka, again, in that southern part of

Danask Oblast. So the Russians are making some progress there. What they have not managed to do

is close pockets, a pocket south of the city, or the larger pocket around the city itself so that while

they're making incremental gains, they're not able to kind of destroy Ukrainian units in one fell
