There was also the standard announcement that Washington, that is the White House and

the Defense Department, were monitoring the situation.

Professor, there will be much to say about how Washington was caught unaware.

We could go back quite some time to the surprise that are very expensive and very black operation

of intelligence gathering has failed to warn us of significant turns in the road.

Right now, the Biden administration is in a position to claim that it is contributed

to the success so far of Ukraine and that the rebellion mutiny coup in Russia is a result

of the stoutheartedness of Washington leading NATO.

Will they speak this way?

As you said earlier, Washington and NATO have been reluctant to say anything or to do anything

that would trigger an escalation of the war.
