warning China not to advance at lethal aid to Russia in his contest in Ukraine. Now,

Secretary Blinken moving on from Kazakhstan to India and to Delhi at a meeting of G20

ministers. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, I read from the Wall Street Journal report,

had his first in-person conversation with his Russian counterpart in more than a year

in an effort to address growing tensions between the two countries since Moscow launched

the war in Ukraine. Their discussions came against the backdrop of a failed effort by countries

in the group of 20 nations to issue a joint communique in Deming, Russia's invasion.

We're told this was unscheduled. It lasted for 10 minutes. We're told the Secretary immediately

brought up the case of a detained, a US citizen in Moscow. Also mentioning that Russia's

attacks on Ukraine are unacceptable and that they should be stopped. Is this the beginning

of diplomacy? Is this showing us in person what is happening in back channels in any fashion

challenge? I think very much. I think there's been substantial talking in back channels about

possibilities. I think the China proposal has been maintained very seriously as a basis

for going forward. The idea that the US Secretary of State and this Russian minister for

an affairs had unplanned unscheduled, they bumped into each other and say, hey, how you doing?

This is not what happened. This was designed to the world to see that there is a contact

between the US and the Russians. Also, let them know that as much as we disagree, it's

possible to talk. I think it opens the door to this negotiations.
