You recall that the war was going badly for Russia and then,

Progo's and the leader of a private army,

rises up one Saturday morning and challenges the authority of the Kremlin,

sending a brigade we're told hurling towards Moscow.

Since then, the normally opaque Kremlin has been completely a black hole.

There is no news, there are just rumors.

The witticism that Russians enjoyed it to tell each other,

remind each other at this point in Russian history is,

we know what's going to happen.

We just don't know what's going to happen between now and then.

That is Russia today.

No one is certain at all about the maneuvering for Putin's successor.
