For Ukraine conflict, the headlines from London are alarming and chaotic.

For example, shop assistant detained over plot to assassinate Zelensky.

Before no clarity, the first three reports are wrong. At the same time, Russia is claiming that it is advanced three kilometers in northeast Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukraine is asserting, and there looks to be confirmation from US sources, that it is struck key Crimea bridges linking the occupied hair salon with occupied Crimea.

This is consistent with the strategy of cutting off communication from the Donbass to Crimea.

At the same time, we have naval drone strikes in the Black Sea. All of this chaos, I'm very pleased to welcome Brad Bowman, who can help me sort it out of the foundation for the defensive democracies.

Wars don't happen in set pieces the way they do in Hollywood.

Brad, a very good evening to you. Stepping past the assassination attempt, we know in the early stages of the war in February of 22, there were assassination teams deployed by the Russian security forces.

They were intercepted. Since then, Mr. Zelensky has been bold appearing here and there near the front lines, anywhere in his country where missiles striking, and at the same time traveling overseas.

He's a very brave man, and one more assassination attempt he won't even remember. But we do. At this point, the Russians are claiming advances.

How do you measure the Russian claims of advances along the battlefield and using their missiles these last days? Good evening to you.

Good evening to you, John. Just a quick thought on Zelensky. I mean, just saying what many of us feel.

I mean, what a brave and effective wartime leader he has been. It reminds me of his response to an American offer of evacuation.

I don't need to ride any damn munition and that really kind of summarizes the wartime role he has played rallying the Ukrainian people against this invasion and creating more international support for the people of Ukraine as they try to defend their homes.

The battlefield is incredibly fluid. It would take us while to go into depth and all of it, but the bottom line is we see in the south Ukrainian interdiction strikes where they're trying to make it more difficult for Russia to resupply its invading forces in the South via Crimea.

And those attacks have had some success, particularly against two bridges over the weekend. That's going to create some bottlenecks and other places.

It's going to force Russians to take longer and more time consuming routes to resupply their forces.

And it's going to put those those for those logistical convoys in closer proximity to Ukrainian positions in the heirs on a blast, putting them in closer proximity to weapon systems, including in some places, according to analysis by the Institute for Study of War within artillery range.

So that's good news for Ukraine. You have some you have the hard slot continuing the South with significant losses on both sides and not a lot of territory changing hands. The Russians are very dug in.

They understand that Ukraine's trying to split their forces into and in their land bridges you and I have talked about before.

And then the North and Harkiv undoubtedly the Russians are trying to put pressure on Ukrainian forces in the Northeast so as to siphon off, find out Ukrainian forces from the South where Ukraine would like to focus.
